🗯 Widely regarded as a "must-see attraction" for tourists in Calgary, this sculpture has captivated visitors from all corners of the globe. Stepping into the head, one is met with intricate mesh curves and a unique multidimensional perspective, evoking a sense of awe and curiosity. Standing at an impressive height of 40 feet, it is composed of intricately twisted steel rods, accentuated by a pristine white finish.
🗯 Our internal digital models were utilized to create approximately 350 EPS templates, which served as guides for bending the ¾ inch (19 mm) and 7/8 inch (22 mm) steel bars to ensure precise geometric assembly within the grooves and pockets.
🎈 Each weld joint underwent meticulous visual inspections, with the majority subjected to magnetic particle testing or ultrasonic testing by our esteemed Heavy personnel. Furthermore, a pioneering weld joint and inspection procedure were developed for approximately 12,000 joints required. In pursuit of perfection, the base ring was meticulously aligned with the grouting lines of the square, ensuring a flawlessly seamless integration.
